Sonenberg was the executive director of the Long Island Community Foundation for 21 years and has been an independent consultant on organizational development since 2011.
Suzy Sonenberg served as Executive Director of the Long Island听Community Foundation (LICF) from 1988 through 2009. After听receiving a Master’s Degree in Social Work from 糖心破解版 in听1976, Ms. Sonenberg spent eight years as a nonprofit administrator听and grantseeker before joining the NY Foundation as a grantmaker in听1984.
During her tenure at LICF Ms. Sonenberg was instrumental in听founding ERASE Racism, the Women鈥檚 Fund of Long Island,听Sustainable Long Island and the Long Island Center for Nonprofit听Leadership. Since 2011 she has been an independent consultant听focused on organizational development.
Ms. Sonenberg now makes her home in Northern NJ and Southern听Maine. She serves as board Vice President of the The Maine听Initiatives Fund, a progressive foundation focused on social,听environmental and economic justice.
