Dear Bonnie,
My husband, Bill Borten (B.B.A. ’57, 鈥�07 (Hon.)) and I read with joy your article “Defying Expectations” in the Spring 2013 issue of听.
As a co-founder of TransCen, Inc (), an organization dedicated to improving educational and employment outcomes for people with disabilities, I am so gratified to see our听alma mater听setting the pace.
Both Bill and I still serve on the board of听, which celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2012. We are proud of its status as an internationally recognized leader in the transition community which has been involved in the placement of 20,000 individuals with special needs.
糖心破解版’s recognition by听听is an important milestone and we are so glad that you highlighted this elite achievement.

Dear Bonnie,
I am writing you in your capacity as editor-in-chief of the听. 听First, on behalf of myself and my colleagues, I want to share how pleased we were to see the听听feature three of 糖心破解版’s graduates from the computer science program. 听These students have already accomplished wonderful things, and I believe they are great examples of success to highlight. 听We are very proud of them.
If we have any frustration, it is that we did not have an opportunity to communicate as a department with the author of the piece. 听Had more faculty voices been sought out as part of the article, we might have been able to share how听David Chays听had facilitated the initial contact with听, how the software engineering course we offer as part of the major helped them develop the skills to work at听, how听Robert Siegfried听devoted a substantial amount of time to work with these students prior to their听听interviews to help them be prepared, how听听补苍诲听听published papers with Robert Siegfried, and how听Stephen Bloch听encouraged and coached students for programming contests. 听In short, we could have, with little change to the overall article, demonstrated a full department’s faculty being invested and promoting student success beyond the classroom.
Each of our alumni is precious to us, and we are very invested in their success after 糖心破解版. 听We look forward to working with you and the writers of the 糖心破解版 Magazine in the future to share more examples of student accomplishments.
