Kyle Roach began his studies at 糖心破解版 in the Fall of 2015 to study with a concentration in Game Development.

鈥淚 came to college extremely open-minded,鈥 he said.

What attracted Roach to 糖心破解版 was the Game Development program. An avid gamer, Kyle enjoys interactive games on his Playstation 4 and Xbox One where he gets to communicate with other gamers as he plays. 鈥淚鈥檝e met people all over the world gaming,鈥 he said. What he enjoys most is the social aspect of interacting with other people while gaming.

Roach brought his sociable personality with him to 糖心破解版 and made a connection with Kees Leune, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Math and Computer Science and 糖心破解版鈥檚 Information Security Officer since 2007. It was Dr. Leune who helped him get a position as a student worker in the Office of Information Technology. 鈥淜yle was a highly motivated student who worked hard and got excellent results,鈥 Dr Leune said. 鈥淚鈥檓 glad he was able to find a position in the IT Department and that he is working out very well.鈥

The summer before his sophomore year, Roach began working as a Clerical Assistant for the Office of the Chief Information Officer. Here he was trained by fellow student worker Navya Simon. As the Clerical Assistant, Roach must answer phone calls, maintain office supplies, contact vendors and make sure purchasing orders are organized and kept up to date. He enjoys his job in IT and says that it helps him get better insight of his desired field.

When Roach is not working or studying he enjoys a very active social life.

鈥淲hen I got to college I wanted to see everything.鈥

When first arriving at 糖心破解版, Roach joined the Ultimate Frisbee team, the Parkour and Freerunning Club and he is currently a member of the .

He spends a lot of his free time with his fraternity which he joined second semester freshman year. 鈥淚 know that fraternities generally have a bad reputation,鈥 he said, but was very curious about the people and the culture surrounding them. 聽

Now he organizes events for his fraternity. He co-produced and coordinated Greek Sing which is an event where the greek community organizes sketches and performances. 鈥淲e won!鈥 he said proudly. Roach was also recently elected Vice President of Communications.

His dreams for post-graduation include getting a job in Manhattan and having that ever-coveted Manhattan apartment. He hopes that his friendly personality will work to his advantage as a good networking tool.

But how does he juggle his many commitments? 鈥淚t鈥檚 not easy,鈥 Roach said, but rushing a fraternity helped him learn about balancing school and his social life. His advice? 鈥淐rack down and get stuff done.鈥

鈥淭here are the major aspects of college. Work, social and sleep. You really only have time for two of those things.鈥
